Charlie is the founder and President of Keyes Architects & Associates, PLLC. He has been a licensed architect since 1987, holding a National Certification with the N.C.A.R.B., which assists with registration in virtually any state. His responsibilities include project procurement, production management, overseeing the general operations, and client service. His experiences in construction, design/build, and full-service architectural firms, help immensely in this firm’s ability to schedule projects, control costs, and deal with the client’s most complex issues. He is proficient in most National Building, Fire and Life Safety Codes.

Eric Keyes - Vice President of Operations / Project Manager

Eric joined the firm full-time in 2004. He brings extensive experience in electronics, drafting, and computer aided designs. He has worked in electronic repair, computer repair, networking, and as an applications programmer. He also has several years’ experience in general construction and electrical wiring. His responsibilities include managing production, construction management, computer software and hardware maintenance, network security, and web page development.

Eric has designed several projects of over a million dollars. Recent projects include Kentucky’s first completely digital movie theater, a three-story medical complex, a large church camp and dining hall, and a bank designed around a tutor-style building. He is also an expert in the Sketchup 3-D Design program enabling clients to visually see their projects on all sides in 3-D and a “walk-around” in movie format.

Douglas E. Sturgeon - Senior Project Manager

Douglas joined Keyes Architects and Associates, PLLC in May 2021. He brings a broad range of experience in design and project management in residential, commercial, educational, and religious projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is a great aid in design and drawing production.

Doug’s responsibilities include project management from project planning with our clients to design production of construction documents, construction administration and project closeout- all while aiming to provide personal interaction with our clients in the process of achieving successful projects.

Debby Bird - Project Architect / Project Manager

Debby joined the firm in 2017. She has actively studied theological and liturgical design for 15 years and has a passion for designing spaces to meet the theological needs of the congregation. She is experienced in all phases of projects from design through construction management, and has managed projects in a wide range of sizes. She has worked on multiple LEED projects and enjoys implementing sustainable considerations in building design.
